Patent Tree:
I have been working with someone for the last few months on a set of patent tools that I believe will be very helpful for finance professionals, due diligence, and patent attorney’s along with their staff. I am really excited about the patent tree program that we have been building. It just needs a patent number or publication number and it will build a patent tree for the entire family.
The first tree is a Penumbra $PEN (I have no position short or long in $PEN) patent family with what I believe is one of their main inventions titled “Embolic coil implant system and implantation method”. We can now see the flow of the patent filings. Pretty straightforward.
Each one of the nodes can be clicked on to pull up relevant information. Title, application number, date filed, active/expired, current assignee, inventors, date published, priority date, issued date, and expected expiration date. There is also a link to view the patent.
Next I ran a patent in Network-1 $NTIP in the Cox family (being litigated versus Google), which I know is quite complicated. As we can see the team has been hard at work over years building the portfolio. A good result in the Google case should see many monetization opportunities.
We have plans to implement additional features that would be helpful across many different technology types. I am open to additional ideas and features that anyone thinks would be helpful or important (send me an email at iphawk@outlook.com). I have been brainstorming some of these ideas for a few years and I am beyond thrilled getting them built. This project is just one of many that are in various stages of development.
